1 Article
Dussehra – The word Dussehra originates from the Sanskrit words dasha, which means ten, and hara, which means defeat. India celebrates Dussehra or Vijayadashami with great enthusiasm and fanfare. There have been many celebrations of victory over evil over which the effigies of Ravana, Meghnath, and Kumbhkaran have been burnt.
The auspicious festival of Dussehra follows the nine-day celebration of Navratri. During this time, people remember Lord Rama who fought against Ravana for ten days, ultimately conquering him and saving his wife, Sita.
This is the first day of preparation for Diwali, and it is also considered a lucky day to begin anything new or meaningful. You couldn’t choose a better day than Dussehra for starting a new chapter in your life!
